The exotic and modern texture of shark skin or shagreen has been a favorite of designers since the 1930's. Shagreen is traditionally made from the richly textured skin of sharks or stingrays. It was popularized in Japan where it was used to wrap the handles of samurai swords， and in the centuries since it has adorned only the most luxurious home accents. Our cruelty free version of this material elevates the clean lines of this simple console table. The table has been wrapped in our grey faux shagreen and mounted on a nickel plated steel base. Available in two luxurious colors， and as a coordinating side table.
